How M-Design came to be
A look behind the scenes
In 1993 Bart Goovaerts opens a chic showroom with decorative fireplaces and built-in fires, some 1,000 square meters in size, where quality seekers can find all the major brands.
Besides being a future-oriented businessman, Bart Goovaerts - due to his higher studies in "Automation" and additional studies in "Architecture" - is above all someone who strives for perfection in the field of design and technology, more specifically the combustion processes in built-in fireplaces and designer stoves.
In 2001, he began to develop his own fires. After about a year of searching and experimenting, his passion finally led to the development of an appliance with a revolutionary - because as yet non-existent - combustion system and a highly optimized air purge system.
In that same year, 2002, he founded M-Design BVBA to commercialize the fires of his own invention. His years of experience in installing and selling built-in fires and fireplaces gives him the necessary baggage and experience and knowledge to design a perfect appliance, where not only the design but also the ease of use are important criteria. Thus the first LUNA models are born, and almost at the same time the VENUS built-in fires.
Already in 2005 an improved version of the Luna comes out: the LUNA GOLD Collection.
At Batibouw 2007 the new Luna gas models are the big eye-catcher and, not illogically, also the big sales hit.
Since then, thanks in part to huge investments in marketing, M-Design has continued to grow constantly. In 2013, the company makes a big leap with the brand new DIAMOND collection: ecological gas and wood fires with broad and sustainable future prospects, economical, consumption-friendly, hand in hand with nature.
